I presume the point of this headline is to somehow justify the ''dont get vaxed '' position.
For the simple minded , or evil , it may well have that effect.
However , a thought exercise.
Vaxed 50% protection
90% of population vaxed.
So take a thousand people sample, match them as best you can for age , sex etc to the whole population.
If all of the unvaxed got infected, and 50% of the vaxed get infected , then the majority[by number] of the infected will be vaxed. 450 vd 100
Now if the mortality and hospitalisations[ in proportion] is half in the vaxed vs the unvaxed , the majority[in numbers] of the mortality and morbidity will still be among the vaxed. By number, 2 and a half times.
Now , sharpen your pencils , and see what happens if nobody is vaxed.
Both the mortality and hospitalisations go thu the roof.
Those who have actually looked at the evidence , will note that the figures are actually a lot better for vaccination than I have used.
But keeping it simple seemed expedient for the exercise .
