The G1 trials you mention clearly do not demonstrate any significant difference between the groups - the numbers were not great enough and there was a high placebo response rate.
Yes the writer is verbose, and has interests in companies you might consider rivals, though in fact neither company would consider Biotron a rival as Biotron has yet to produce any compelling data to suggest that its drugs will ever be commercially used in HCV, or HIV for that matter. That's not saying it won't produce such data in the future but there is none to this point.
