Well, I generally prefer to ‘follow the money’.
So...which of the two provided major funding for LAMP expansion after the other country cut off its RE Exports, then which country adjusted its loan repayments when Lynas encountered difficulties, and now imports over 2/3 of the high value LAMP production.

And which country has recently guaranteed billions in bond finance to Malaysia after Dr Mahathir went cap in hand for assistance to fund his election promises?

On the other hand, which country is very miffed with Dr M after he cancelled several massive debt-funded and corruptly negotiated Belt and Road projects, including the East Coast fast train through Kuantan’s new Chinese-built port and walled, guarded industrial complex (surrounding the LAMP)?

According to the WSJ this week, these inflated loans were to be milked to repay the stolen 1MDB funds to save Najib and his political cronies.

Noting that the majority of vocal opponents to the LAMP over the past 8-9 years have been Malaysian Chinese, including those vocal supporters bused into the November Public Review hearing, but who clearly did not understand the Malay language discussions (or the subsequent Malay language Report) the majority Malaysian-Chinese DAP and its Minister Yeo Bee Yin should be watched carefully IMHO.
