They won't lose their jobs so long as they're willing to relocate to the new hub of Lynas's operations in Kalgoolie.
Doesn't take a full staff to run half the LAMP and I for one would be very unimpressed if the LAMP-based staff weren't substantially reduced.
I think Shane's points that about $500m of machinery will have to be mothballed and $100m spent unnecessarily on residue management are very salient: Malaysia has treated Lynas dreadfully and no concrete improvement has been delived by the latest lot.
On the other hand Lynas is well cashed up and will soon be perfectly able to thrive and survive without Malaysia if need be. (Well in a few years, anyway)
