I am pretty sure it would be a problem for the Brazilians if the China's official policy was to monopolize the rolling around in 115 Bq/g sand.
The situation with Lynas in Malaysia is just another symptom of the new Cold War that China has embarked upon. In the same way the West & Communists would indirectly confront each other in many countries for 50 years, China is confronting it's 'enemies' (indirectly), such as Japan, in Malaysia.
SMSL are obviously doing the bidding of others. After all, Mt.Weld ore is imported into Malaysia with the same ultra low radioactivity as the residues. How much radioactivity in the fertilisers imported from China? How much radioactivity in the sands of the tourist hub of Langkawi? Maybe there should be a travel alert to warn tourists of the extreme radioactivity of Malaysian beaches in Langkawi? Why is this not a public health issue? The radioactivity is so much more in Langkawi than Lynas residues.
Maybe time to publicise this little known public health issue about the health dangers to Malaysians and all tourists in Langkawi.
