According to WorleyParsons, they are building all embankments from NUF/FGD. Look at the footprint of the closest pile of WLP and note how large it is and the embankments as well.
As for your most excellent "pyramids of Egypt" quip, LOL, the piles are quite reminiscent, and the thing to remember is that the mountain of material pulled out of the Mt Weld deposit grows substantially larger as it is processed in Malaysia (or at KAL soon). Much water and sulfate is consumed; definitely the pile of material brought to Malaysia grows by more than 100%, perhaps even 200%. Maybe someone here knows?
