No-one who has received two vaccine doses is in hospital: Chant

Seventy-nine per cent of the people in hospital are unvaccinated.
The five people who are fully vaccinated are the residents of SummitCare who are in hospital as a precaution.
“So in summary, no-one who has received two doses is in hospital, and that’s a key message with this Delta variant,” Dr Chant said.There is now a teenager in the intensive care unit, alongside 15 others including one in their 20s and one in their 30s. Nineteen of the people in hospital are under 55, and eight are under 35.
.“I think it is a salient lesson that COVID can impact across all age groups and I’m not aware of any other specifics around that case [of the teenager],” Dr Chant said.
