    The problem with your logic is that if you catch COVID-19, it's too late to get vaccinated then as it takes some weeks for the vaccination to give you some decent immunity.

    If you are unlucky enough to be one of those who end up with severe COVID-19, you could end up dead or suffering long term disability.

    The relevant equation is: likelihood of catching COVID-19 x likelihood of severe COVID-19 vs likelihood of severe reaction to vaccine

    And that's just the selfish equation for yourself alone. You can do the maths on how painful it would be if you caught COVID, had a mild disease but ended up giving it to your family members, some of whom died from their exposure to COVID.
