The Aussie PM is asking anyone neither an Australian citizen nor a permanent resident of Australia to make their “own way home”, especially international students.
In years past, that would have seemed draconian, now it seems “populist” and in line with Australian community sentiment wanting Australian education to be purely for Australians and Australian welfare and Australia to be for Australians.
