The fact is that they are already a colony of China. As I see it, here are the scenarios:
- continue to follow the directions from their Chinese masters including Ignoring any directive from ICSID/ ICC and any other international arbiters and DRC officials continue to enjoy the gold watches and brown paper bags. Oh and there is the question of the billions owed to China. That will be forgiven subject to compliance with the aforementioned.
- comply with ICSID etc rulings and we all know what happens to the free rides and handouts enjoyed by DRC officials as summarised above.
As mentioned previously, FT has had plenty of opportunities to step in but hasn’t so what I can glean from that he has his snout in the trough as much as Kibeya and co
