Yes, I currently own around a dozen stocks (not all on ASX). They're all boring companies which I don't need to barrack for; they just quietly and competently go about their business.
I've never shorted a stock in my life, but folks are free to believe whatever narrative some others trot out (I respect that some people will be unable to believe that).
Not all my posts are as a non-holder, here's an example (I sold out at the takeover offer price):
I spend a lot of time trying to understand criticisms about companies for my own investment learnings. I seem to have mentioned this numerous times over the years (even to yourself SF!). I'm not interested in becoming a cheer sqaud member for any of my stocks - in fact, conversely, this type of behaviour attracts retail and usually then the shorts.
It's somewhat comforting to me to read that some AVZ holders have become critical of management's (in)actions. The company has got itself into this situation and continual suspension (
unable to comply with the listing rules).
As an investor, continual learning is only secondary to making profit.
