Seriously considering my options...
Would appreciate any 'constructive' feedback, but also expect a few armchair expert darts thrown my way.
Bought into the Li steam train early last year, and at close to ATHs of a number of stocks that were running high on speculation and 'hopium'.
Of course with the expected fib retraction of around 50% once momentum ran out, then other factors such as the current financial concerns, macro environment around the sector and also Big Players playing Big Games down trending the market and then coincidentally buying up big after the tree shake... I find myself in quite a dismal position.
Sure, the trick is not to buy 'high' in the first place, however I'm also trying to seek out a few subsequent rules or guidelines to follow to mitigate and emotional decision that I may later regret making a hasty decision to sell out or alternatively which I may risk by staying in ignornantly putting the blinders on assuming all will be just A-OK and just assuming it's a won lotto ticket not yet cashed in.
One stock in particular which I won't name (approx 25% of my portfolio weight) however will give you the information that should lead you to a pretty accurate conclusion - that they are a Perth based company with tenaments within the Lithium Triangle of Argentina, awaiting confirmation and results of some company making news that their DLE partners can produce a commercial product, quickly and economically yet stiiiiiiiiiill without a producing timeframe of until late 2024 at best, and given their track record with later and later delays, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even get it happening this decade!
Even with positive news around this product processing given the environment of the world financially and also surrounding Li atm, I cannot see this stock doubling its SP, let alone 5x-10x like everyone had kindve expected it to within the next 5 years...
So it really leaves me with the choice to up and leave a rocky hyped up investment into something else, speculative yet still fundamentally solid like DRE (that is also weighing in at approx 25% of my portfolio) that has already retraced after last years ATHs and really still has A LOT more to come.
Again, sorry for the spiel, looking for investment strategies and support from those who have been there and done it before, as well as maybe even showing others out there that they also aren't alone in this game of the 'White Collar Punt' that is the ASX.
