Curiouswon, It is obscene that Deborah Thomas is getting to keep any of her $1.48 million salary: Surely there needs to be some accountability here. If it was a male CEO and not a female CEO, would there be more of any outcry? Is this reverse sexism in Australian corporate governance? Or just sexism? The CEO is still the CEO, is that right? If it had been a man, would the social media response have been different? A lot of women, see mouthsofmums article are suggesting that there is a double standard in the media reporting of the event and the very light ride that the female CEO has been receiving, especially given she is pocketing $1.3 million and the media and some on HC r carrying about a donation of a mere $178,000 cash bonus.
Is this blatant media sexism? Why is the CEO getting such an easy ride and pocketing $1.3 million for the year while 2 young girls are without their mother? Shambolic and disgusting.
