The new Energiron plant will be in pdn Q3 2011 and will produce 1.9 million tpa DRI for Egypt's Ezz Steel.
Iran's Khorasan Steel's 1st DRI module has just come on stream producing 800,000 tpa DRI. 2nd DRI module also producing 800,000 tpa will be coming on-stream in the next few months.
Meanwhile India "recorded an increase 2.1% in 2008-2009 over 2007-08 in terms of sale of sponge iron thus maintaining its position as the world's largest producer of direct reduced iron (DRI)."

At full pdn the Newcastle Plant will produce 18,000 tpa DRI. Due for completion EO 2009, then Q1 2010, now Q2 2010.
