Of course an oil leg can be outside the closure as anyone with half a clue working in the industry would know. In the context of oil reservoirs, an oil leg refers to the portion of the reservoir that contains oil, as opposed to gas or water. The closure of a reservoir is the structural trap that contains the hydrocarbons. It’s possible for the oil leg to extend outside the structural closure if there are no impermeable barriers to prevent the oil from migrating.

Several factors can help keep the oil in place even if the oil leg extends outside the structural closure:
    1. Capillary Pressure: The difference in pressure between the oil and the surrounding water can create a capillary barrier that prevents the oil from migrating further.
    2. Permeability Barriers: Natural barriers like low-permeability rock layers can act as seals, trapping the oil in place.
    3. Hydrodynamic Forces: The movement of water within the reservoir can also help to keep the oil in place by exerting pressure on the oil leg.
These factors work together to ensure that the oil remains within the reservoir, even if it extends beyond the structural closure you clueless dipshit.
