If it is Cemented at the bottom, you run a CBL down the inside if the drill pipe and this will tell you at what depth the free point is. You then run a small charge down the inside of the drill pipe to the join above the cement, then you turn the drill pipe backward about ten to fifteen turns, it will depend how deep you are, there is a formula that we use. When you have the back wards tension on the pipe you set off the small charge this will undo the drill pipe at this depth. You then pull it all out just as you would when you are tripping. This pulling 200 feet a day of free pipe is utter BS.
