One advantage equities have over gold bullion is the potential for revaluations based on corporate activity, ie mergers and aquisitions. Someone will pounce before too long if the market cap continues to languish behind a fair valuation. When that happens the re-rating will make you glad you were holding shares rather than the physical stuff.
