Why am I so comfortable? Research.

It is something you see all the time on HC. People come on to the threads and post negative comments and poo-poo a stock [especially so when a share price is tanking]. Once I spot that the motive of a poster is merely to use other people for sport and their amusement I put them on ignore and leave it at that.

In the particular case of SOC. There have been some posters who clearly have not done the work on the company ... but they are more than happy to opine and denigrate.

In the last few months I have read, read and read some more. I still do not have the necessary grasp of the geology and probably never will.

That is where trust comes into the equation. I have rung the company a few times and listened carefully to what they tell me. When the chief Geo tells me that in their assessment Mt Adrah is potentially analogous to Rio's Northparkes I pay attention. I am certainly not going to give the same credence to some anonymous poster on HC, who for all I know is sitting up the back of some cave, holding their pointy stick and is banging away on the internet.

There is no doubt that SOC is a speculation. But, how many goes do you get in life where qualified people are telling you that 'there's gold in them there hills'? So far the drilling that has been done backs them up. It will take more drilling yet to know if Mt Adrah is commercial or not ... but on probabilities this looks a good gamble to my eyes.

As it happens, just today, I was looking over the charts of a few established gold miners. NST was once about 6 cents ... they have had a SP of $1.60, RRL was once about 8 cents ... they have had highs over $6. I already knew NCM was about $1 before they found Cadia. Little penny dreadful explorers are everywhere and their SPs is uninspiring ... but if they find something they can do spectacular things.

Research. Research. Research.

There is no way I am going to allow somebody else to talk me out of a winner. Indeed, as you say talk is cheap ... but some talk is impoverishing.

As for risk ... each person makes their own mind up on that score.
