ASX: NGY) is mobilising the CNM drilling rig for the company's second pilot well to the Muara Enim Production Sharing Contract (PSC) Pilot Production Site in South Sumatra, Indonesia.

The Pilot Well #2 is located around 500 metres from the from Pilot Well #1. The first well has already provided encouragement, with dewatering operations demonstrating a steady increase in gas production.

The second pilot well will be drilled and cased to a depth of 800 metres, with the primary coal seams located between 558 and 705 metres below the surface.

NuEnergy, along with joint venture partner Pertamina, the national Indonesian Oil Company, is looking to develop the project and transform the Muara Enim PSC into a viable gas producing hub.

NuEnergy will again use radial jet technology to complete extended laterals across the most significant of the upper coal seams, and utilise pre-perforated slotted linear casing over the lower coal seams to maximise access to the productivity of those seams.

The company has three operated PSCs in Indonesia, two operated CBM & shale gas joint ventures in Tanzania and an Exclusive Prospecting Licence in Malawi for CBM and shale gas.
