DRILLING PROGRAMME COMMENCES AT AURA ENERGY’S
WONDINONG URANIUM PROJECT
Aura Energy Ltd (ASX Code: AEE) has commenced drilling at its Wondinong calcretes
uranium project near Mt Magnet in Western Australia.
Wondinong was discovered in 1971. WMC drilled a small number of holes on a 1500 by
300 metre grid in the project area, defining mineralisation that extends over an area of at
least 8 square kilometres. WMC did not carry out any infill drilling, electing to
concentrate on their Yeelirrie Project.
Aura Energy’s drilling will be on a 200 by 200 metre grid to establish the distribution of
uranium in the central area of mineralisation. It is anticipated that approximately 350
holes will be drilled at the prospect, for a total of 2000 metres.
In addition to the main mineralised zone the drilling programme will test the following
additional prospective zones:
· The main zone is not closed off on either of its northern and southern limits, and
approximately a further 1700 metres of strike of the deposit remains to be tested.
· A smaller north-eastern zone of mineralisation is currently defined by only 3 drill
holes.
