interesting that the coretrack website under history says that the GT3000 was designed for drilling to depths of 4500m, while the globedrill website says it is capable of in excess of 3500m. maybe waiting to see how drilling at merredin goes before saying it will go deeper... while the under development GT 5000 will drill to 5000m.
PTR drilled to 4000m but they seem to now be happy playing around at 3700m, and PAX quote temps @ 4020m in oz they also are getting into Indonesia where the drill only needs to go to 2000m. GDY also went deep for HFR @ >4000m but aren't they also targeting shallows? with HSA celsius 1 and 2 exploratory wells @ 2200m and are they now trying to bring in the big rig set-up to go deeper (delays getting the whole lot in due to rains it seems) not sure how deep, but <3000m according to the latest GDY ann. i know they have their own rigs but still probably cheaper and quicker to use the GT3000 and leave the old (obsolete?) drills where they are.
