These appeals are just the thin edge of the wedge. As I live in Tasmania, I have first hand experience of Appeals against many projects, with some of the most trivial complaints. The appeal processes, used by Tasmania's hardened protest bodies, ensures costly delays and withdrawals of many projects here. As time goes on WA will, and is, starting to see this happen more and more.
It is a vexing situation and as @celtickiwi said:
"We need more kids doing STEM subjects, so we have more Engineers, Techies, Geologists, Biologists, Environmental Sustainability planners that can solve problems and come up with viable solutions on how we get our Energy."
This problem is only just starting.
