bhp and rio let the amman and columbia projects go after the GFC and recession in 2008.. apart from those two very critical and important factors, the tigers guys had cashed up and were just fishing around and picking up what they dropped as both bhp and rio consolidated, and as bhp also were involved in a pretty hostile takeover of rio in 2008.
its not a case of bhp really not liking the area, its a tier 1 asset and imho will be proven as one in the very near future..
there is incredible interest in the asset, i agree with shaws that the stock is completely insanely undervalued, the market has completely missed this one, but its not unnoticed, but thats not to say its not been unnoticed in the arena of suitors all over the globe imho..
looking forward to the action as the milestones are passed in 2012.. should be interesting..
