GREAT JOB Oilman!! Drilling in salt domes is a task in itself and carries many problems when attempted. It is not an easy drill due to the many physical or mechanical differences in salt structures.

Great explanation of potential cause of the stuck BHA. Directional drilling will be used to overcome the problems of salt dome drilling. The problem still exist and that is salt drilling is not simple.

Here in Louisiana we try drilling on the sides and not enter the dome if possible. This is accomplished by directional drilling. Salt is mined here and drilling around mines is a big problem.
