With the expiry date of the June 30, 2008 option coming soon, it is in MXR's interest to drill the core reserves area first, thereby getting convincing good result for the options to be well in the money.

I am also of the view that they might have got the drilling result announced today prior to yesterday's announcement.

My observation is that, Kevin is really smart in the way he times the announcements. He does take into account overall stock market sentiment, US DOW futures, ASX futures, etc. I noticed that sometimes they release very good announcement when the ASX is down substantially, so that they could attract the attention of more investors.

This time around, yesterday's announcement just paved the way by lifting market sentiment and attracting attention, so that today's announcement will lead to an even higher share price.

Smart moves on their part!
