Scottish wind might generate 57% of the number of watts of electricty they consume but do they generate it at the right time to use it ?

Certainly in Winter there are weeks when there is no wind and they don't have weeks worth of storage so they are dependent on other sources of electricity .

Even if they did , as a rule of thumb electricity only accounts for 1/3rd of total energy usage . Domestic and industrial process heat account for approximately another third and transportation for the other third .

So even if wind does/were to generate 57% of their electricity , it would only account for approximately 57/3 = 19% of their total energy usage .
