Anti fracking is fighting an ever so more desperate battle. Over emphasizing some real silly things in order to get attention. Still, by causing delays in the system they are a nuisance. Even seismic testing is blown out of proportions in terms of approval process. A shame really, but no way around it.
As the industry now starts having more credible prove of what and how they are doing things, it allows for a stronger respons to some of these scaremongering stories.
Protestors have been awfully silent about the video that Cuadrilla produced. Standing in front of the gate they projected stories of Hell and Destruction. In actual fact it is a professional operation, run by specialists. Whenever they screamed 'Rusty the Rig' was idle again, little did they know of the process to drill a well, and install the various layers of casing and cement. What utter fools!
Now the only thing that keeps them going is utter ignorance and denial. Cuadrilla should take them around in -very- small groups. Education is the golden bullet here.

The last hope for protestors would be that labour comes in. But, why would the government walk away, when they still have over 4 years of government ahead of them?
And does anyone really believe that labour will simply drop this whole exercise? It was labour that issued the license rounds and the PEDL's in the first round. And now, after years of better technology and better evidence and regulation, fracking can be done very responsible even.

What we need is a really cold winter. Let the temperature drop well below zero for a long and hard winter. Bring it on. We'll see how wind energy or solar energy keeps us warm.
