Asian molybdenum price goes strong Market participants indicated that short supply in spot market pushed the Molybdenum price going up, especially in Asian market where buyers can get material only at price above US$10.2/lb CIF.
A 15 percent export tax imposed leads to decreasing export from Chinese suppliers, Korean buyers, who used to deal with Chinese suppliers, have to turn to source in North America and Chile, but still hard to get supply of June-July shipment.
On the other hand, western producers worried that the rising market price would initiate China’s domestic enterprises to recover production.
