Lionel Diggings Drilling Commences
Drilling has commenced at the historic Lionel Diggings gold prospect, 25km east of the Ravenswood gold field in North Queensland. Access to site due to heavy seasonal rain was not possible during the March Quarter, but the drill contractor now has the rig on site to undertake the planned seven-hole, 1,080m reverse circulation drilling program.
Holes to a vertical depth of between 110 – 180m are being drilled on five lines across the mineralised quartz vein system and should be completed in two weeks, barring any technical delays. As mentioned in our announcement on 17th April, 2008 the timing to receipt of the assay results is uncertain due to the heavy demands placed on assay laboratories. Investors can be assured that IIG will give guidance on this once the samples are delivered to a laboratory.
