It will be a long time before any results are known.ICN will drill down through the coalbed and assuming the coalbed is sufficiently thick at that well site they will take samples to see what quality the gas is, and what are the downhole pressures etc .They will then temporarily cap the well as they prepare to pump the water out prior to testing. (They may need extensive fraccing to open up the coalseams . This could take a month.) They will then move the rig to another well site for drilling the next well, and so on.
The water pumping exercise can take a long long time ,....many months, maybe six months or more.
As the water is pumped out of the well it reduces the cushion sitting on the gas and the gas starts flowing more easily .Then the data including gas volumes and pressures will be fed to an external reservoir engineering firm so they can assess the recoverable reserves around that particular wellbore and eventually how many wells will be needed.
It will be a long process, and as last time ICN will issue glowing reports about the gas quality and the potential.
Eventually it all failed last time as the gas volumes during testing were too low.Hopefully ICN will have learned a bit more this time and use better equipment including fraccing unit and pumps, and drill at more productive locations.
