My God, Commonwealth Securities resources analyst Len Eldridge must be a very knowledgable 'pinhead', judging by his quote ruling out Santos as a takeover target because it only has 'Australian' interests..................I always thought Jeruk (major discovery) was offshore East Java, Indonesia, not to mention current projects in the U.S., New Guinea, New Zealand and a whole lot more! You'd love to have this guy in your mergers and aquisition department wouldn't you? Further, I am now convinced that brokers do not know anything past their noses........I spoke to mine near market close and told him I wanted to buy 200,000 shares in a very special (even more so after today) 'u' stock. His comment, despite the fact that they were already up on sensationally strong volume? "Why?" I advised of todays developments with the Federal Govt. overruling the N.T. Govt on Uranium mining applications, and the fact that it was all over H/C and the news services. "Boy", he said, "we don't even know about that! Thats huge!" Moral of the story:- I got my shares on close..........stuffed if I know why I should pay them for commission!
