    All part of the increased technical risk of drilling offshore vesus on shore. However the rewards of larger strikes should compensate.

    Typical success rate of drilling in Bass Strait 20 years ago was over 40%. With modern day technology this should increase to say 50 or even 60% success.

    I heard that the success rate in the Otways offshore program done recently was 90%, but I cannot confirm that figure.

    Here's hoping Moby 1 is successful.
