"Hedge funds and other large speculators increased their holdings in gold futures by 2.8 percent to 90,253 contracts in the week ended Dec. 21, according to a report by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission yesterday.
In the previous week, net futures purchases by funds fell to 87,794 contracts, the lowest since Sept. 28".
