ASX ANNOUNCEMENT
APPOINTMENT OF MANAGING DIRECTOR – EXPLORATION UPDATE ON
MINCOR / GOLDEN RIM JOINT VENTURE, SABETO PROJECT, FIJI
The Directors of Golden Rim Resources Ltd (“Golden Rim”) are pleased to announce the
appointment of Craig Mackay as the Managing Director of the Company.
Mr Mackay was previously the Exploration Director of Golden Rim and has been with the
Company for the past six years. He is a geologist with 20 years experience and prior to
his commencement with Golden Rim was a Senior Geologist with AngloGold Australasia
Limited.
Mr Mackay has just spent the last week in Fiji and is pleased to report that the diamond
drilling at the Golden Rim’s Sabeto project is progressing well. The first drill hole is
currently at a depth of 211 m and has a planned completion depth of 220 m. The initial
target for drilling is the copper and gold mineralisation found at Central Ridge which has
the historical Kingston Mine and numerous old adits and workings. An additional three drill
sites will be drilled at Central Ridge and then the rig will be moved south to Tuvatu North
to test the direct strike extensions of Emperor Mines’ Tuvatu mineralisation (450,000
ounces of gold).
The planned program totalling 3,000 m (approximately 15 – 20 holes) is expected to take
around 3 months to compete. Drilling is being conducted 24 hours per day, 6 days a
week.
Whilst in Fiji Mr Mackay met with the newly appointed Minister for Lands and Mineral
Resources, The Honourable Tevita Tuibau and with senior officers of the Mineral
Resources Department of Fiji. The Minister confirmed his government’s strong support for
exploration in Fiji and for Golden Rim’s work programs at Sabeto.
During the trip several new resource projects in Fiji were also identified. These projects
are being reviewed to determine their potential. Golden Rim are currently looking at a
number of opportunities in Fiji and is most interested in expanding its operations in the
country.

GOLDEN RIM APPOINTS MANAGING DIRECTOR
ASSESSES FURTHER EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN FIJI
South Pacific-focused resource group Golden Rim Resources (ASX: GMR) has appointed Mr Craig
Mackay as Managing Director to lead the Company’s assessment of further growth opportunities in Fiji
while simultaneously advancing a major drilling program at its Sabeto Gold Project, near Fiji’s capital Nadi.
Melbourne-based Mr Mackay is a geologist with 20 years’ professional experience, most recently as Golden
Rim’s Exploration Director. Prior to joining Golden Rim six years ago, he was a Senior Geologist with
AngloGold Australasia Ltd.
Mr Mackay’s appointment comes as Golden Rim steps up exploration at the Sabeto Gold Project, where the
Company has commenced a 3,000m diamond drilling program targeting copper and gold mineralisation in a
highly prospective region hosting several significant projects, including the 10-million ounce Vatukoula gold
deposit.
While advancing this program on a 24-hour-per-day, 6-days-per week basis, Golden Rim is also assessing
several additional project opportunities in Fiji, where Mr Mackay met last week with Fiji’s Minister for Lands
and Mineral Resources, The Honourable Tevita Tuibau, and senior officers from the Mineral Resources
Department of Fiji.
In welcoming Mr Mackay’s appointment, Golden Rim Chairman, Mr Rick Crabb, said the Company had
entered a crucial development phase.
“Craig’s leadership role is critical to our Company’s growth and prospects in Fiji and throughout the Pacific
Rim region,” Mr Crabb said. “His appointment is an ideal appropriation for Golden Rim of his knowledge of
the Company and his experience throughout Australasia. And it is a fitting supplement to our recent senior
exploration appointments, at a time when the opportunities for Golden Rim are extensive.”
“We are very pleased at the Fiji Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources’ confirmation last week of his
government’s strong support for exploration and for our Sabeto program,” he added.
Golden Rim’s three-month drilling program at Sabeto will comprise up to 20 holes. The first of these, in the
Central Ridge region which hosts the historic Kingston Mine and several other mine portals and workings,
has been drilled to a depth of 211m.
Three further holes will be drilled at Central Ridge, prior to the drill rig being moved to Tuvatu North, where
Golden Rim is targeting direct strike extensions to the mineralisation hosting Emperor Mines’ 450,000 ounce
Tuvatu gold project.
In December 2006, Golden Rim heralded substantial expansions of its exploration programs at both Sabeto,
Fiji in Vanuatu, with the appointment of Peter Olubas to the newly created position of Exploration Manager.
Earlier this month, Senior Geologist Ashok Kumar joined the Company’s technical team.
Golden Rim is earning a 75% interest in the Sabeto Project from Mincor Resources NL.
