I find an Oil/Gas Industry Glossary very helpful. There are a lot of them on the Internet but the one I have bookmarked is http://www.glossary.oilfield.slb.com/.
There are a lot of ways to "frac" as you will see but the one that captures my imagination is the process of pumping walnut shells down the well. That has to be high tech doesn't it!!!
