well chaps, there's good news and bad news.

The good news is that after encountering a large obstruction during the final phase of drilling , the obstruction turned out to be the base of the Eiffel Tower. The French were always gonna pull it down anyway so seems like HCY saved them the trouble.

The bad news is that HCY are unlikely to be granted a mining permit for the centre of Paris. They're a bit touchy about the Metro, Le Louvre, and a few other spots dear to their hearts.

Still, you can't say persistence doesn't pay - and at least we now know that there's nothing wrong in theory with drilling a hole throught the planet.

Mind you, if HCY put a rail line throught he tunnel, maybe we could get cheap fares to Europe - Harvey World Travel - look out.
