What I was trying to elucidate was that the two targets are not necessarily connected in terms of mineralisation being present between the two anomalies 1.5km apart. They are distinct and seperate potential areas of mineralisation that could be occuring along the same broader blanket. (in terms of mineral pimples, same face, same cause, but seperate 'zits'!?LOL). See abuman's comments in reference to what the MD has stated.
supertramp,
don't really appreciate where the crater lake analogy takes us at this point in time.
Current drilling around Olympic Dam as part of the super pit strategy has identified a footprint of mineralisation, very different to the existing model, -comprising better gold grades and shallower- that forms a halo (crater lake concept?) around the previously defined orebody.
It keeps on getting bigger and bigger! Every time they do some testwork to define the potential edge of the proposed pit, they find more ore!!!
Still early days for Monax. Of note, the initial follow up drilling around Carapeteena was not flash but is believed to have improved lately (rumour only).
Cheers,TAS
