Was this ever a serious takeover bid? Just asking...
I always thought that it made good sense. DLS had been in a management mess - must have been a nightmare to have as a farm in partner. DLS need STO or BPT to make useful progress in the Cooper basin so will have to farm out significant percentages of their holdings. DLS shareholders pick up more of the Cooper with BPT and get to convert prospects to cash much sooner. BPT have (and I agree) an expectation that their share price should be about 2x what it is. So why discount it further? If the BPT share price goes up with a nudge up in the POO (and backing from indicies) it will have a good chance of succeeding, IMO.
