Rutherglen’s historic Morris winery has again triumphed at the Melbourne Wine show.

Morris wines have been a flag bearer for the Rutherglen region for many years and have enjoyed particular success with fortified wines.

Winemaker, David Morris, said the latest success was very pleasing.

“I hope it encourages people to visit our wonderful winegrowing region, which really is a jewel in Australia’s wine crown,” David said.

Morris’ gold medal wines include the NV Classic Liqueur Muscat, Reserve and Old Premium Liqueur Tokay, Sweet Red, Vintage, Tawny and Classic Tawny Port and Reserve and Show and Reserve Liqueur Muscat. Its medal breakdown was 13 gold, 12 silver 10 bronze and the Mick Morris Trophy for the Best Muscat in Show.

The winery was awarded 35 medals from its 41 entries.
