    I'm not sure what the liquor laws are now, but 25 years or so ago, an alcohol still was illegal if it produced more than 10kg of alcohol per annum; or, if the alcohol was sold; or, if gifted.
    During my time in the Northern Territory during 1980s stills and home brew set ups were very common.

    If I remember correctly, the laws come under the customs act ???
