I've been experimenting and I've found the best way to enjoy sprits is using a "Glencairn" glass.


So what I do is add a splash of Rum (whatever), then rotate the glass.
You can smell the ambient volatile alcohols evaporate, (sharp unpleasant smell) also you'll note that the solutions rather quickly runs down the glass. I keep stirring until the smell sweetens and the solution thickens.
Then I pop a single ice cube in it and continue spinning until melted.
Then enjoy chilled.
