Most companies have at least one analyst giving them a strong buy rating.
Giving someone a strong buy rating is largely meaningless since analysts are often wrong. 4/10 analysts had WTC as a strong buy. It reported today and the stock is down over 20%.
Stock recommendations do not drive the share price and sometimes occur because of relationships with the company. It is not a show of confidence. Putting their money where their mouth is and buying the stock is a show of confidence.
