Gap filling beliefs are a product of TA and not of market fundamentals. Meaningful price jumps normally occur for fundamental reasons.
Each time a share price moves from say $2.00 to $2.01 it creates a 1 cent price gap.
If it were necessary for that gap to be filled then price would never move higher, because a gap above $2.00 would be continually created, requiring refilling.
This exemplifies how irrational is the self-fulfilling belief that price gaps need to be filled.
