There are a large number of market participants who treat the stock market the same as a casino. Zero thought given to their decisions, just make a punt and hope they end up being right. You have to remember that trading is a very easy way for gambling addicts to get the same sensation they get at the casino, but at least when they do it in the stock market they can fill a bit more dignified about it
