The shorter played the game. Thinking back to what happened, I'll guess the below occurred on their end:

1: They realised the current stock has been pumped up by lots of new retail buyers

2: They realised current holders would have stop losses triggered

3: They anticipated the next quarterly result wasn't going to be released yesterday

4: They anticipated a panic sell will cause new retail holders to panic, triggering stop losses

So what do they do? Announce they are going to do a small, short sell on DRO, punting that retailers will panic (it worked). Which will then cause stop losses to get triggered (it did) and that a quarterly result ann won't stop their short (it didn't). A small short was enough of a punt to take (note they didn't take a large position).

They played the game, enough to cause mayhem and make a profit. Knowing full well the ASX will pause trading, however giving them 2hrs before the ASX caught on.

Let's see how today goes. Noticed buyers increased by 200 since early this morning.
