    The below is an excerpt from a Telegraph article war gaming the upcoming summer offensive in the Donbas.

    “The widespread use of fibre-optic FPV drones allows the Russian to attack and destroy fortified positions on the front line more effectively,” says Mr Muzyka. “They have also improved coordination between FPV strikes and ground assaults. I think this is one of the main reasons why the Russians are performing better.”

    Ukrainian units report that these drones, tethered to cables stretching over as much as 25 miles, emit no detectable signal. Only rarely have Ukrainians been able to neutralise them by physically severing the cables.

    Soldiers returning from the failed Kursk incursion noted that Russian fibre-optic drones disrupted logistics, rendering their position untenable.

    “They’re a game changer,” said one soldier with the call-sign “Uncle Sasha”. “Everyone is trying to find countermeasures to fibre-optic drones — we don’t have them and neither do the Russians.”
