i think this is typical of the frontlines.. there are so many drones – on both sides, doing general surveillance as well as target identification and ofc, some doing attacks themselves. The scale seems overwhelming.. ig jamming / EW would be more effective than individual targeting of enemy UAVs, but then what about friendly drones.. how not to jam them too?
DRO's promo material has plenty of the military aesthetic.. but tbh their technology seems more suited to defending a static position against isolated / occasional UAV threats (like an airport and other civilian infrastructure; or a border).
I'm sure it'd be handy to have / better than nothing, but the efficacy seems kinda unproven.. and not just DRO, all C-UAS systems - none have cracked it yet..(from what I can tell anyway.. like we'd have heard about it if there was some technology / product or approach that was meaningfully mitigating the threat at scale in a combat environment saturated by drones like Ukraine).
Meanwhile.. even though it's obviously limited to just protecting tanks, it's interesting to note that a very crude approach (that doesn't involve any AI..), seems to be one of the more effective counter-drone innovations adopted so far..
