Darwin hosts pitch black ( multiple country airforces) and oz raaf and international and domestic flights. It is a good location for such a trial.
It is disturbing that Droneshield was not selected. I assess that the capability is broader that DRO capabilities. Maybe missiles, fighters (air traffic control integration) etc could be that reasoning.
lots of unknown and maybe DRO is providing the drone sensing piece but not command and control.
If we are involved one would expect dro to advise by an ann.
