Russia Introduces ‘Garpiya-A1’ Attack Drone with Chinese Engine and 1,500 km Range

According to two sources from a European intelligence agency and documents reviewed by Reuters, Russia began producing a new long-range attack drone named the Garpiya-A1 last year.

This drone, which uses Chinese engines and components, has been deployed in the war in Ukraine.

The two intelligence sources reported that the Garpiya-A1 has been used against both military and civilian targets in Ukraine. This deployment has resulted in damage to critical infrastructure and both civilian and military casualties.

The sources provided Reuters with images of the wreckage of a Garpiya-A1 from Ukraine but did not offer additional details. While Reuters found supporting information that reinforces this conclusion, it was unable to independently verify the images.
