The original founders of DRO were Brian Hearing and John Franklin, a couple of US ex-military.. It was an American start-up based in Herndon Virginia. It was acquired by Australian venture-capital group Long Hill LLC. The newly formed corporation was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).
I can't find anything about DRO putting itself up for sale after the IPO but I do recall they shut down their website for a time whist shopping the company around.
I'll continue to poke around a bit.
